This document describes the reference architecture for scalable infrastructure and simplified deployment for a Disaggregated Infrastructure Solution for VMware environments. This document covers different components and capabilities of designing and implementing a Disaggregated Solution with ThinkAgile VX Series powered by VMware vSphere Foundation and ThinkSystem DE/DM/DG/DS Series. The intended audience for this document is technical IT architects, system administrators, and managers who are looking to optimize their investments in VMware environments.
The reference architecture provides a technical overview of the servers and storage and explains why the combination of Lenovo products and VMware software provides best of value of ease of management while optimizing investments. The reference architecture describes the workload components, architecture recommendations, and best practices of deploying VMware hyperconverged stack with Lenovo servers and external storage arrays.
