Lenovo ThinkEdge SE455i V3
Edge-optimized processing for AI inferencing, Telco, and workload consolidation
Datasheet
Computing at the Edge is evolving rapidly, bringing innovation and new challenges. Lenovo is at the forefront, enabling AI inferencing and workload consolidation where data is generated. The ThinkEdge SE455i V3 is purpose-built for these demands, delivering real-time insights with AMD EPYC™ 8004 Series Processors and NVIDIA L4 GPUs for accelerated inferencing.
This system combines high-performance compute with energy efficiency, rugged design, and advanced security, making it ideal for retail, manufacturing, and Telco environments. With support for up to 576GB DDR5 memory and NVMe storage, the SE455i V3 ensures low-latency data access for AI models at scale.
Lenovo complements this hardware with management tools like XClarity Controller and Open Cloud Automation, simplifying deployment and control across distributed Edge sites. Whether you need to run complex AI inferencing, consolidate workloads, or meet NEBS standards in harsh conditions, the SE455i V3 is engineered to deliver.
At the computing heart of the SE455i V3 is the AMD EPYC™ 8004 Series Processor, designed for Edge workloads and AI inferencing. Built on Zen4c architecture, it delivers up to 64 cores in a power-efficient footprint, enabling real-time inferencing without compromising energy efficiency.
The AMD EPYC™ 8004 series supports DDR5 memory and PCIe Gen5, ensuring fast data movement for GPU accelerators like NVIDIA L4. This combination provides the bandwidth and compute power needed for inferencing models, making the SE455i V3 a perfect fit for AI-driven Edge environments.
The SE455i V3 offers a modular design that adapts to your inferencing requirements. Start with a powerful AMD EPYC™ processor, add NVIDIA L4 GPUs for accelerated AI workloads, and scale storage with NVMe drives for low-latency data access.
Whether you need to deploy inferencing models for retail analytics, manufacturing quality control, or Telco packet processing, this system delivers flexibility and performance. Lenovo also supports a wide range of operating systems and provides management tools like XClarity Controller and Open Cloud Automation for simplified deployment and monitoring across distributed Edge sites.
Edge deployments often share space with people, so noise and size matter. The SE455i V3’s short-depth 2U form factor fits easily into wall-mounted cabinets or shallow racks, while acoustic optimizations keep noise levels low—even during heavy inferencing workloads.
With Acoustic Mode options and intelligent fan control, the system ensures quiet operation without sacrificing cooling performance, making it ideal for environments where AI inferencing runs continuously alongside human activity.
AI inferencing often involves sensitive data, so security is critical. The SE455i V3 includes TPM 2.0, intrusion detection with system lockdown, and AMD Infinity Guard technologies for secure boot and encrypted virtualization.
Physical security features like lockable bezels and tamper sensors protect against unauthorized access, while firmware resilience and System Guard ensure integrity throughout the lifecycle. Combined with ThinkShield and XClarity management, these features make the SE455i V3 a secure platform for inferencing at the Edge.
Inferencing workloads don’t stop when conditions get tough. The SE455i V3 is NEBS-ready and tested for shock, vibration, and extended temperature ranges. Optional dust filters with airflow sensors keep the system running in harsh environments, while rugged design elements ensure reliability during transport and operation.
This durability makes the SE455i V3 ideal for Telco sites, industrial floors, and other demanding Edge locations where AI inferencing must remain uninterrupted.
